Once owned by Kansas City banker and developer Frank Morgan, who built the two tallest buildings in Kansas City, J&N Ranch purchased the Feedyard in 1990. It is the eastern most cattle feeding operation in Kansas. The commercial feedyard consists of 15 pens and features one of the new technologies in cattle feeding, an enclosed hoop barn structure. There are two additional containment structures to retain water run-off which is held for later use in crop irrigation.

In addition to feeding and finishing beef cattle, the company also sells manure to several local nurseries.
